The Edwin A. Mirand Library is organized to serve the information needs of the clinical, research, and student population of Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Its resources and services are available to the entire Institute, to other libraries, and to individuals in the area who have a particular need for its materials.

The Library, which is a part of the Institute's Department of Educational Affairs, has one of the largest collections of cancer-related materials in New York State. This specialized collection distinguishes the library as a Resource Library within the National Library of Medicine's regional system of health-sciences libraries.

In addition to its active membership in the Library Consortium of Health Institutions in Buffalo (LCHIB) and a cooperative association with the University at Buffalo libraries, the Mirand Library works closely with other facilities on the local, state and national levels to help meet the information needs of its users.

Services are provided through print and electronic resources that are relevant to the Institute's Mission "to Understand, Treat and Cure Cancer". The Library also maintains an active interlibrary loan program, and participates in the Library Consortium products, "OnCall" the shared online library catalog, and "HUBNET," the nationally recognized electronic medical information resource collection.

Bookmarklet Tool

The proxy bookmarklet lets you reload a web page through the Library's EZproxy server. If the page you are visiting is one that the library has a subscription to, and you're presently off-campus, you will get immediate access to the resource once you've logged in with your Roswell Park Library Off-Site Access username and password. Please note this method does not work 100% of the time, there are exceptions (for example: Journals@Ovid).
