Survey Research Shared Resource
The Survey Research Shared Resource (SRSR) is in the Department of Health Behavior, in the Division of Cancer Prevention and Population Sciences at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. The mission of SRSR is to create a collaborative shared resource within RPCI that can provide data collection and study design services for investigators from different CCSG Programs. SRSR specializes in cohort and cross-sectional surveys on issues related to cancer including tobacco use, cancer screening, and survivorship. The services that SRSR provides include phone, web-based, and mail-based surveys, assistance with clinical trial recruitment, and mail-based biologic data collection and data entry. SRSR also provides consultation and design services including protocol development, training, report generation, and survey programming.
SRSR is housed on the first floor of the Cell and Virus building on the Roswell Park Cancer Institute campus, located near the corner of Michigan Avenue and High Street, in Buffalo, NY. The call center features 72 available interviewing stations, along with 6 supervisor desks within a 2,450 square-foot, state-of-the-art office space. Sound-dampening measures allow for staff to operate at such a capacity without disturbing other interviews. Short-walled cubicles allow supervisors located at either end of the call center to easily see and supervise staff. Using Cisco phone and Wincati interviewing software, all calls are recorded and can be accessed, visually or by audio, as live interviews are being conducted for quality assurance purposes. The call center space also features a separate copy and utility room, which is used for clerical and administrative tasks, such as constructing mass-mailing and staff consultation. SRSR employs an average of 75, well-trained, professional interviewers, and can provide services in multiple languages.
