Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology

The Department of Gynecologic Oncology has a long and distinguished record in the field of oncology. Its fellowship program, initiated in the 1960s, is one of the oldest training programs for gynecologic oncologists in the country.

The overarching goal of the Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship Program is to train highly skilled academic gynecologic oncologists who will be capable of leading academic gynecologic oncology programs at other institutions. The training program consists of two years of research, and two years of clinical training. The goal of the research program is to prepare the fellow for a productive career in academic gynecologic oncology through a highly focused laboratory and clinical research experience, including the writing of scientific manuscripts and presentation at major national meetings. Clinical training is a rigorous program involving all aspects of patient care: surgery (including comprehensive training in robotic surgery), chemotherapy, radiation therapy, intensive care and terminal care.
